What my research dug up:

The Beatles Bible assumes George wrote “You Like Me Too Much” about his relationship with Pattie Boyd at the time.

Quoth Richie Unterberger, “‘You Like Me Too Much’ might be a bit lightweight and frivolous by Beatles standards… Nonetheless, the song did show [George] capable of writing album filler that was stylistically compatible with the Lennon-McCartney tunes that were the group’s main staples.” While agreeing the song was filler and had “superficial resemblances to the songs of Lennon and McCartney,” Alan Pollack argued that the tune “contains ample substance which attest to its belonging to George, only; especially in its chord progressions and the attitude of its lyrics.”

“You Like Me Too Much” is a simple composition in 4/4 time and the key of G Major.

The Beatles recorded “You Like Me Too Much” on Feb. 17, 1965 during a four-hour session. They did the rhythm track in eight takes before George overdubbed vocals and Paul added a bass part. Then came three piano parts – John on a Hohner Pianet electric piano, and Paul and George Martin on opposite ends of a Steinway grand piano for the introduction.

As mentioned yesterday, “You Like Me Too Much” was George’s first song to be released since 1963’s “Don’t Bother Me.” It was also one of two songs he composed for “Help!,” though unlike “I Need You,” “You Like Me Too Much” did not appear in the film.
