Day 220: “So How Come (No One Loves Me)”

When was it recorded?   Jul. 10, 1963

When was it first released, and on which album?   Nov. 30, 1994 on “Live at the BBC”

Who wrote it?   Diadorius and Felice Bryant

Have I heard this song before?   Just the original

What my research dug up:

Quoth Wikipedia, Felice Bryant (nee Matilda Genevieve Scaduto) and Diadorius Boudleaux Bryant “were an American husband and wife country music and pop songwriting team.” They actually wrote a number of hits I wasn’t aware they had written. Among their most popular works were the Everly Brothers’ “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “Bye Bye Love.” “So How Come (No One Loves Me)” began as an Everly Brothers song, too, appearing on their fourth album, 1961’s “A Date with the Everly Brothers.” According to the Beatles Bible, this LP “was a top 10 hit in the UK and US.”

The Beatles taped their version for “Pop Go the Beatles” on Jul. 10, 1963. The song – featuring George on lead vocals – first aired Jul. 23, 1963 and was released on 1994’s compilation “Live at the BBC.”

Real uplifting, eh?  Great way to end my Monday…
